I managed to reduce til 66-67 but the effort seems to have gone in vain due to my recklesness. I guess its high time i nip this in the bud before this magnifies

After the 1st quarter i would rate my effort in keeping up my resolutions as 5/10.

I hope to better my performance in the next quarter by gods grace and with all ur help and support.

I just heard a shocking piece of information.A girl studying in M.O.P college for women met with an accident yesterday on her way to college to attend their cultutrals. She later died. The maximum college did for that girl was observe 5 minutes silence and went ahead with their functions which continued today. There cant be a more inhuman act than this.

When one of your friend has died and the family is mourning a bunch of inhuman girls are singing, dancing, parading by adoring themselves in the latest fashion things to glory. And even more they dont have any remorse for their stupid inhuman act and are proud of their achievements when the culturals should have been cancelled the very next moment.

Women in our society are considered to be more compassionate loving caring.Every time you see a debate on television you can see women vociferously staking claim to the above qualities.Gandhi said that "god cant be everywhere so he created women".I have always maintained highest regard for women. But this inhuman act is so disgusting and difficult to digest.

The management should be ashamed of their act.I will also blame the students of this college.I heard only the department of the victim had withdrawn from the culturals. Its so dis heartning to know that the other departments did not follow the same thing.Had every student from each department told we cant be pariticipating and enjoying when one of my friend has died and her family is mourning, the college authority could have not told any thing or no action would have been taken on the students. This is not strike called by politicians with vested interest.

If the college is going to justify their act by telling they have already informed the judges or chief guests then god save this world where there is no compassion and humanity.

If it was for monetary reasons then.....i guess i dont have anything to say on this.

These girls are so conscious about the latest fashion trends and want to have the same hairstyle as sonam kappor in delhi 6.But no one seems to emulate what was shown in rang de basanti. There was not even a single candle that was lit either yesterday or today for that girl. Cant anyone spare few minutes to light a candle in front of her photo and then get on with their culturals if it was so important than a human life?

I also want to add one thing to all those girls who participated and won today. They dont need to be proud of their achievements. If at all they just have to be ashamed of their inhuman act. This is not fair means of winning.A department had also withdrawn. So the competition to them was less by a few notch.

Where are the so called protectors of indian culture?I guess they can stop their moral policing activities in pub and discos. This height of immorality.

And the honorable minister for women and child welfare please stop naming incidents like talibanisation and others and take action.

I would want the human rights commission to look into this matter.

I dont know the girl or for that matter even her name, but i hope her soul rests in peace.

P.S: Divya, this is not a personal attack on you.

GAME SET AND MATCH A.R.R.

It was worth every bit bunking college to see a.r.r receive the oscars.I had attended college for 23 days continously so that i could bunk today. No matter what i decided im not going to miss this eventful day.20 days of work and 2 oscars no ones complaining. There is a lot of criticism that this is not his best work.Yup its no way his best but oscars is for the best work u did in a particular year and not for what you have done over the years. For that lifetime achievement is there and that can wait for a.r.r.Looking at the other awards i wanted best picture to go to MILK.But the slumdog juggernaut rolled over the others.Sean penn Kate winselet were worthy winners. So was simon beaufoy. His screenplay was the best part of slumdog. For those who have not seen MILK please dont waste a moment go catch it.The movie emphasises that every one of us need to have the right to purusuade our dreams as long as we are not a hinderance to our society.Live and let Live.I was hoping it would surprise slumdog at best picture. But i take no credit away from slumdog. As arr said it was film about hope optimism.Considering the other films that made the cut no doubt SDM had an upper hand. With curious case david fincher has lost his reputation. The man who made fight club, seven, game comes up with such a thrash. But he is an unlucky guy.Scorcese won for departed which was nothing but a glamourised tamil film with huge star cast.Guess fincher thought making curious case he will hold the golden statue but he could at best salvage a best director nomination.Athuve romba over.I hope he goes back to making films like seven or fight club. The reader had nothing but kate winselet's brilliant performance.Frost/nixon was very engaging but it was more of a documentary than a feature film.Guess the academy few years back only gave 'brokeback mountain'.So MILK had to bow out to SDM.The best moment today was when HEATH LEDGER was given the posthomous award for the dark knight.Im in tears as i type it now.The legacy of heath ledger will for sure remain for ages to come.At the end of the day A.R.RAHMAN WITH 2 OSCARS has made my day and im sure for many Indians.Till date only 2 indians had won and today A.R.R alone had brought 2 in addition to the 2 oscars for ressul pookuty n veteran lyricst director GULZAR.We all should be proud to be INDIANS today.

JAI HO!!!!!!!!!!

<br chander calling little did i know then i had a long night and i was heading to heaven to meet the god.I was just baffled when he said "dai kelambi c.i.t nagar va da".My initial reactions were excuse me are you drunk. The next thing he says is "namma a.r.rahman a meet pana porum ippo, seekrum kelambi va".I was like whaaaaaaaaat??are u serious??.In 15 mins from then i was already on the streets of chennai in my bike heading to praveens house to pick him up(yest was his b'day).By 11.15 i reached brownstar hotel near kodambakkam where chander was waiting for us.He later told us that a.r.r is arriving in chennai in few hours and we are going to meet him at his house. But we were not sure if we would be able to see him.We were thinking have we gone mad to be on the streets so late, but there were more crazier people who had come earlier. So we decided to stick on,no matter if we see him or not. Then arvind arrives with the news sir's flight is delayed by an hour and wil land only at 1 am.We then decicded to check out few parks if chennai sangamam was still going on.It was midnight by then.We headed to sivan koil park and natesan park to find that the day's programme was over. Then we headed to chander's place to rest for a while before heading out again. It was half past one today morning we left chander's place after getting to know the flight has landed. When we were back near arr's residence the crowd had just mulitplied with a few media persons waiting to cover the arrival of the man who has put india on the global cultural map.By 2 am rapper blaaze arrived to a cheering response with people rapping his humma humma. In 10 mins from then an innova arrived on the narrow dimly lit street and we just realised that finally the moment has arrived. The adrealine was just so high at that moment and the god got down from his car to walk through a crowd of 30-40 people to reach his home which is a few metres away. The media contingent was in full attendance to cover the arrival of the man who has just created history. He came out and gave interview to a tv channel and started walkin through the street. The atmosphere in the wee hours of the morning was just awesome as people started singing JAI HOOOO!!! and plucards being shown to him.He started walking with a gentle smile towards his home carrying the golden globe in his hand.I was running backwards wit my horrible mobile cam tryin to cover his walk like many mediapersons out there. We then reached his house and i was touching distance from him,as the whole crowd rushed to his office. The ever so humble man patiently gave interviews to both the english and tamil media one by one. That room showcased all his awards and the keyboard and mixer used for ROJA was framed on to the wall.I was just over the moon when i was inside that room. To be there was just something one has to feel.It was not long before the media took its ugly head. The man was so tired but still patiently gave interviews to every channel seperately before a man from the horrible TIMES NOW sticked out the mike on his face.He then just walked off much to the despair of the channel's chennai correspondent.Inspite of making repeated statements that he will give the interview the media went overboard as usual. Its a shame such an historic and memorable night had to end in a way it ended.

I am so excited and happy and would be thankful for ever to arvind, for without him this would have never happened.I guess praveen had the best possible birthday gift better than the lame surprise we pulled of yesterday evening.

This day would surely go down as one of the best days in my life.

*HUGS*

JAI HO!!!!!!

<img style="display:block; type='text'>

2009 is a landmark year for me as for the first time in life i have taken new year resolutions.Till now i believed not taking resolutions is gethu instead of taking one and breaking it.Now after a few years of taking the spiritual path one thing i have learnt is your the greatest loser once you start fearing defeat and shy away form challenge than the person who takes up the challenge but need not be successful. So i have 3 resolutions this new year.I have enrolled myself in a gym and planned to go to swimming despite kissing death last sunday so as to negate my bad eating habits which has resulted in me achieving a nice belly. After i joined coll my phsyical activity is almost nil.So after many unsuccessful attempts i started from this monday.Another reason is the fact that i have every chance of growing obese cos of my genes has scared the life out of me.The first resolution is curing and with the second one i have decided to prevent. It is to reduce my intake of soft drinks.I have almost become an addict to it n felt that its high time i do somethin about.Im sure i cant kick out n wont kick out as i love it so much. Then the empty calories is doing no good.Third is i have planned to reduce usage of my bike especially to the next streets n nearby shops.I recently watched al gore's documentary on global warming and it created a lump in my throat. It also solves the purpose of my physical activity thing. It also saves a quite a decent chunk of money but now that the government is planning to reduce the fuel prices by another 5rs is going to kindle the temptations to drive a bit more wothout worry.I hope i can come over this temptation.
And the saddest part is after a week of avoiding soft drinks i got a 600 ml coke to go with my pizzas for lunch today.worshtttttt..........

I just HOPE i can live upto atleast 50% of my expectations.

*HUGS*

Bacheha-Ye aseman

I just saw director majid majidi's Bacheha-Ye aseman or Children of heaven.I have to say this is one of the most poignant movies i have ever come across. It is not great by any stretch of imagination but its one of those movies u dont want to miss out on.Its basic plot is very much relatable to tamil movies buffs as its anna thangatchi orae the sentiments but the thing that stands out and makes u take notice over perarasu film is the anna is in 3rd std n thangatchi is 1st std. Its very simple straight from the heart and contains no I LOVE U DADDY kinda dialogues but its just very touching and heartwarming. The persian movie with a runtime of just about 90 mins was an acadeamy nominated film for the best foreign film from iran in 1999.Its worth every minute. So those of you not yet watched it please see it.

It was a very reprising movie after watching INSOMNIA in the morning.I guess nolan is better of confusing people than trying out ventures like this.

*HUGS*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Well friends wish u all a happy and prosperous new year.

This is that time of the year when we look back at the year gone by.So im no vidhi velakku(for the tamil disabled no"exception").Thing is im goin to restrict myself in lookin back at year gone by with respect to ARR who is celebrating his 43rd birthday today.HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARR.

After much delay the music of JODHHA AKBAAR got released to set the ball rolling for 2008 and it was definitely worth the wait.It was a completely diverse album from ARR for quite some time i guess. It had everything from a romantic number in jashne bahare or the devotional mann mohana and the ever haunting qawwali "kwaja mere kwaja"sung by the whiz himself. So perfect start to 2008.

It was may of 2008 when jaane tu and ada both hit stands on the same day.It was a blessing for his fans. While jaane tu was a for the genx,ADA was a mixed bag partially due to delay. Its yet to hit the screens though it was his next project after laagan.JAANE TU was a perfect album on the whole with peppy songs lik KABHI KABHI NAZREN MILENA or the dance floor number PAPPU CANT DANCE and the romantic number KAHIN TO(it was the one of the best picturised song for me).It was a runaway hit.As far as ADA is concerned its a more conventional ARR album the one which grows on you after several hearin. It was nice to see sonu nigam back and the malayalee singer jayachandran back.It had 9 tracks but its mainly for rahmaniacs.

Then down south in a few months time SAKRAKATTI released setting new records in audio sales in tamil film industry. It was even more special when sony bmg decided to give a free ARR poster with the audio cd.It was a blessing for me.Thanks SONY BMG.I have nothin much to talk about this album.A dud film completed(or made to complete)100 days just with TAXI TAXI. He is possibly the only composer who influences a box office opening of a film.Though 2 tracks from M.F.HUSSAIN'S MINAXI was re used it was still one of the best albums of the year.I personally feel MINAXI's is ARR's one of the most under-rated scores.

October saw Subash ghai and ARR come together again after the smash hit musical TAAL for YUVRAAJ though rahman did only 2 tracks for KISNA.It was a perfect album except for the 2 numbers. This album involved heavy orchestration and symphony style musical treatment. My pick of the album is mann mohini n tu meri dost hai.

In between all these indian ventures danny boyle's slumdog millionaire released which is getting rave reviews and has won ARR his first golden globe nomination. The first indian to achieve this feat.It truly is a great moment for us irrespective of he wins it or not.I am eagerly waiting for jan 11 when the golden globes are announced.Praying with crossed fingers.

The last album of the year was AAMIR's ghajini. It was a big let down for me especially after such a wonderful year.Only guzzarish and kaise mujhe stay in ur mind.End of the day he is human so after giving such mesmerising tunes there isn't much of complains.

2009 promises more nice tunes from MOZART OF MADRAS.There is an interesting line up in both hindi n tamil.

albums to look out this year

1.dilli-6

2.mani ratnam's billingual(the most anticipated)

3.chennail oru mazhaikalam

4.einthiran

5.rajiv menon's film

At a time when the world is going through lows with economic meltdown terror strikes wars at a few places there is beautiful gift from this humble man in the form of JIYA SE JIYA.The timing of this album is just perfect.I would sincerely appeal everyone to see this song.Whether u like it or not is immaterial but im sure it will make an impact and make people think little bit.

Hoping for a better 2009 maybe even an OSCAR nomination for SDM.

"ELLAM PUGAZHUM IRAIVANUKE"

So until then HAPPY NEW YEAR n cheers

*HUGS*

VAARANAM menon needs to be sure who he wants to carter. He cant possibly woo the mass and yet want to make a so called 'classic' film. This is the biggest hurdle that this Suriya starrer faces. It tries to be realistic but its not entirely. It wants to carter to the masses but cant.

With the pre release murmurs touting to be inspired by the classic tom hanks starrer FORREST GUMP i had my own reservations. But thankfully this film has nothing to do wit it except for the fact for its auto-biographical or rather biographical treatment.Suriya plays the father(Krishnan) and son(Suriya).

The story starts with suriya hearing about the death of his father when he is on a important work and reliving all those moments he had his father. The film travels 3 decades. The dad suriya's coll days to his parenthood and to the present. As the director has said in his interviews this is a tribute to his late dad.And he has done just a good job.Just good i say because the film had the potential to be a great one.

The first half of the movie starts off with suirya simran love story.Thankfully the 'munthinam parthen' song helps in taking this portion of the movie forward which is heartening to see.And it gradually captures their simple life with birth of suriya his sister his early days blah ....

As suriya returns to chennai after his engineering(though he says he is very sure he will have to visit his coll in september again is also heartening.lol.) and encounters meghna(Sameera reddy) and love at first sight thing happens. But she is not so convinced and lets him know of her plans to study in the US.By then suriya is now the responsible son of the family with his agein father decides to start a business and earns for a while with his friends. Then he plans to visit US to woo sameera. After a few nice moments and again the song 'adiye koluthe' helps in moving forward with the narration and tragedy strikes as meghna dies(Gautam pls wts ur prob dude?y u want to kill all ur heroines?) the film reaches the half way mark.

As suriya returns the cliche creeps in with he getting to alcohol and drugs. His parents then advise him to take a trip to feel better and the story moves to kashmir to new delhi and back to chennai and suriya decides to join the armed forces. After few years he graduates to rank of major and in the mean time falls in love with his childhood friend priya(Divya).

The suriya sameera romantic track is very refreshing. The father son relationship has been done with a gentle subtlness and major share of the success had to be attributed to suriya who as the father and son comes up with a power packed performance.Simran as the mother sans make up comes out with a good performance clearly showing she has matured as an actor. It reminds of the kanathil muthamilal days which i still rate as the best performance of hers.In retrospective her talent was wasted barring a few films. The films two leading ladies have also done their job quite well especially sameera reddy. Its been ages since i saw a tamil film in which a heroine ACTED or came up with even a decent performance.

In the flip side as i mentioned earlier this film tries to be realistic but its not entirely.Take for instance the whole kidnapping incident or the fact that he goes to US just to find meghna and woo her is cliched. And the scene at the consulate during the interview where he tells he wants a visa just to find a girl doesnt make any sense.

To add to it the films lead characters seem to converse a lot in english a bit too much for comfort or neither of the two songs in the 2nd half helps but ends up slowing down. The 'anjale' song is just a mere waste as one dabban kutthu song is not goin to bring the masses. And also the sudden transformation of ordinary gut into a larger than life hero does not help matters.

Thankfully suriya's performance makes up for it.I guess its time now that gautam re thinks his strategy for whom this film is being catered to.This film will carter only to the multiplex audience for sure.So there was absolutely no need for those masala elements to be peppered.

The harris-gautam combo strikes riches for 5th and one last time with all the songs but lacks depth in the background score, signs of a souring relationship and just one day before the release its official that harris and gautam are parting ways.I guess the film's main dialogue of "WHATEVER HAPPENS LIFE MUST GO ON" is the apt thing at this hour of sadness. This seems to be a good move by both of them as they are leaving on a high like our DADA.

The cinematography by ratnavelu is top notch and is one of his best work apart from sethu.

VA has its heart at the right place with the potential to be a great film but for a better treatment, ends up just being good.

IT's Suirya's show all way and definitely worth a watch.

rating: 3/5

"February 14 is a holiday invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap".

With these lines uttered by a sober JIM CARREY(very much unlike him)begins the journey of one of the best movie about relationships. So this post is just my take on relationships or rather a critical take on modern relationships which i have seen from close quarters.

Over the past few months people close to me have had a rough time with their relationships.I was wondering how people who once meant everything to u is not even a friend within few months. After talking with some people and disecting finely certain important aspects i get an impression the epicenter of the problem lies in the choice of the person.

I dont deny the fact that physical appearance is the 1st thing that gets attracted to a person n makes u want to know that person. But im not the guy who believes in LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT stuff. We spend long hours in shopping malls to buy a simple wallet but the fact that we dont want to spend quality time to choose our life partner is amusing n sickening.I just cant understand how well u can gauge a person in a week that u decide that they are ur world n believe that ur destined to be together.

As i was sharing this argument with a guy he comes up with a reply that once if u get to know a person so well u become friends and its difficult to have a relationship.I thought this probably has to be the most dumbest statement one can hear.Oh my god!!! I never knew that the constitution prohibitted that friends must not end up together.I guess this one statement is more than enough to prove that the person is highly immature n not fit for a relationship. The worst part is within few months u find out he/she is not the right person for u.So why are we not ready to spend a good few months to know each other n then decide?Once u have decided to take this risk then one must be prepared to face the consequences but we instead brood over spilt milk.

If the above case was not ridiculous enough i have another one.I was shocked to hear that one couple started a relationship after knowing each other just for a day.Yes just ONE bloody day.I was taken aback with ease the person told me when i was trying to help that person. But to my surprise that relationship had a longetivity of 3 years which i consider astronomical.Later as i got to know about both their characters i could easily tell that the break up was the best thing that could happen. They were poles apart.I agree men n women are and cannot be the same.As the law of nature says LIKE POLES REPEL;UNLIKE POLES ATTRACT.But they were just totally different from eacht other.I feel one of the most important thing for a good relationship is that both of them must compliment each other.People tend to confuse compromise n complimenting. The general feeling is that someone should compromise but that is the root cause for all problem. Once u compromise there raises a feeling of defeat n this plays with the ego n one fine day when saturation level is exceeded hell breaks loose.

THEN I MET THE THIRD KIND:

Well these people have nothing to do with relationships. But the fact that they use this term as a cover to satisfy their sexual needs is anything but irritating.I cant tolerate how some people have grown so insensitive when they say that they are in a relationships just for TIME PASS. As far as im concerned the only thing they deserve is to face the gallows. The attitude of these people influenced heavily by the AMERICAN PIE'S and FRIENDS are threataning our ethos and the moral values once we stood for, which gave this country respect and an identity.I guess we are colonising ourselves this time with our mindset.

As i told earlier this is a very biased/critical take on relationships.I know no one gets involved in this if they dont derive any happiness. The only reason why the brighter side is not highlighted is yours truly is still very much SINGLE N WANTING TO MINGLE.

My quest for finding out that special person continues........

And the movie i was talking about in the begining is ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND. S.j.suryah's anbe aruyire was inspired form this movie.

Well this sunday was a treat for all sports fan. After euro 2008 this sunday had 3 major sporting events taking place.1.WIMBELDON FINAL FEDX vs NADAL 2.ASIA CUP FINAL 3.BRITISH GRAND PRIX.A perfect sunday evening was on the cards. As far as im concerned i had my own list of favorites to win the events.Me being a big formula-1 fan i always wanted the scarlet car of KIMI to see the chequered flag.As far as the asia cup was concerned well it is quite obvious despite knowing the fact we are the greatest chokers when it comes to finals. We explore ways to loose finals. Then the big final on the grass courts 5 TIME CHAMP FEDX hoping to win a record 6th title at wimbeldon and RAFAEL NADAL desperately trying to stop him.

But things did not go well as i wanted to at silverstone.it was rainy afternoon and the grand stand was in full support for the local boy LEWIS.It was a great start for lewis as he passed through the outside of mark webber at turn1 to leap into 2nd place from 4th on grid.By lap 5 he made a pass on race leader n team mate HEIKI.Then KIMI passed heiki to go to 2nd place. At this point the race was looking very good for the italian team until the 1st round of pit stops came.LEWIS N KIMI piited at the same time wit the former coming out just ahead. But the usually reliable ferrari strategy went wrong big time with their choice of not changing kimi's tyres hopin there wld be no rain. The usually accurate whether prediction systems f-1 teams have, failed this time for ferrari as rains lashed just few laps later. This made sure that kimi on a set of worn out itntermediates lost pace quite badly as against new set of tyres.Eventually the BMW of nick heidfield passed kimi.By the time when the 2nd round of pit stops were over lewis had built up a staggerin 1 min lead over the 2nd place driver.kimi at best could salvage a 4th place finish after a brief battle with alonso. With lewis taking the chequered flag on lap 70 my worst fears came true.A brit winning his home race. This is more than enough to feed the already over hyping british media about lewis hamilton. With this they will hail him irrespective of his performances as the sports greatest driver.British media sucks big time anyday. To justify my statement they still talk about the 2-1 ashes win in summer of 2005 at home. They tend to forget the 0-5 thrashing they received when they toured down under in 2006-07.

Then next big event of the day was the asia cup final. After choosing to field after winning the toss we made a great start by having the lankans on the mat at 66-4.But then the old war horse came to the party to score a brilliant century at a brisk pace in spite of the fact that one more wicket at that time could have been disastaraous.FORTUNE FAVORS THE BRAVE.We did a decent work on the field restricting them to 274.Having chased more than 300 tiwce earlier in the tournament n considering the fact that indian top order was in great form 275 never looked daunting. We had a brilliant start with viru in awesome form.It needed something special to stop the batting on slaught. When the wise option was to turn to the spin whiz murali the lankan skipper pulled a magic out of the hat by introducing rookie spinner mendis. But the rookie rose upto the ocassion to single handedly spin the emerald isle to the title.History repeated itself once again at the national stadium Karachi.India's jinx at big finals continued. With this india has won only twice in 22 finals in the past decade loosing 18.So disappointment number two.

Now we move to the grass courts of wimbeldon where history beckoned roger federer for a record 6th title at wimbeldon.Fedx has been unstoppable over the last 5 years on grass with a staggering 65 consecutive wins. But if there was one person to stop this it was none other than the spaniard the "king of clay"rafael nadal who missed the title last year after a gruelling 5 setter.
I was hoping nadal to end fedx run n it started of well for the spaniard closing the first two sets 6-4 6-4.But with rain interrupting during the 3rd set testing the patience of nadal and the sell out center court crowd, it gave enough time for the defending champion to re group himself. After play resumed the champion in fedx rose to the ocassion taking a good lead before nadal fighting back to take the set to a tie breaker.Eventually fedx prevailed through to take the set 7-6.The story was no different in 4th set as well heading into a tie breaker. But then the moment came when nadal had a singe championship point but the defending champion proved why he is considered as one of the greatest players to have played the sport in the open era.fedx saved another championship point with a out of the blue backhand shot down the baseline. He managed to win the set and take the match to the decider before the heavens opening up again. Both players seemed determined despite the fact the match was heading into its 4th hour. The 5th set was even better with each of them matching the other shot by shot.Since there is no tie-breakers in the last set they had to play out the games n break serve. It was almost 9 pm local time when fedx servin at 7-7.With some superb returns n passes the deadlock was broken with nadal breaking fedx serve to take a 8-7 lead to serve for the championship. And after saving another match point the decisive moment came when fedx failed to clear the net with a backhand therby handing the spaniard his 1st wimbeldon title. It was the longest men's final ever played at wimbeldon with the match going on for nearly 5 hours. The spaniard silenced all his critics questioning his ability to win on surfaces other than clay.
Atlast i had something to cheer after being disappointed wit the other 2 results earlier in the day.
FEMINISM OR FEMALE CHAUVANISM

For quite sometime now I have been wondering about this term called feminism n feminist what it actually means cos every alternate day in the news channels or the news papers I land up, has something related to these mysterious terms.so I decided to google the term n wikkipedia returns this “Feminism comprises a number of movements, theories and philoshphies that are concerned with issues of gender difference that advocate equality for women, and that campaign for women's rights and interests.”

Then I searched for some feminists in india and most prominent of them are people like shoba de,renuka choudary (the honorable minister for child and women welfare) arundhati roy and the best of all taslima nasrin(bangladeshi writer though). But if feminist are people who fight for women’s rights and equalities then the pioneer in this field has to be ISHWAR CHANDRA VIDYASAGAR.He was the one who vehemently opposed the practice of sati and advocated for education n empowerment of women as early as in 19th century. Then we had our very own M.K.Gandhi.Today the term feminist has been totally associated with only women. And priorities has also changed.Today the main motive of these “so called feminist”is to create a situation wherein men are the devils to be eradicated from the society. This clearly shows in the results they have achieved. They have not been able to achieve even half of the above two men were able to do.The honorable minister goes on record saying women must not trust their husbands but a piece of latex or rubber in response to a question on prevelance of HIV/AIDS.As a result of this we are still not able to pass a bill seeking 33%reservation for women in parliament. Then there is Taslima Nasrin who through her literary works says a women can have any number of man in her life to father her child because when a man can have any number of wives. This is what equality it seems.I am not supporting the fact that a man can have any number of partners. But I cant also agree upon her. This is just a juvenile way of fighting for equality. Then we have people like arundathi roy shoba de brinda karat and many who are staunch supporters of the above views.Sorry minister you can’t eradicate HIV just by a piece of latex when you have people around you supporting multiple partners. This leads me to a question are these people “feminist” or “female chauvinist” fighting just for the heck of it.The most worrying thing is there are people who get influenced by these women and without knowing who is a feminist they are claiming to be one.It has become worse to an extent that being a feminist means to fight men and thereby not achieving anything with respect to equality n social discrimination or justice. And let’s face the fact that you can’t fight in such a juvenile way in a country where the male to female sex ratio is 1000:931.Comeon there is no use having a study for feminism if it is going to propogate such stupid ways to fight for equality.

<img width='1' height='1'
